We have forgotten the stagflation of the ’70’s, created by the ‘powers-that-be’ with a false ‘oil crisis.’ As mentioned in other posts, my father was a gas station owner/mechanic at the time, and it was a hideous time for enterpreneurs in that industry. The lines for people to get gasoline often went blocks and blocks, sometimes a mile or more. I was surprised, even then, that the stress alone in dealing with desperate customers didn’t kill him.
In our day, the ‘powers-that-be’ have created a new economic crisis and they, once again, have done it on purpose. Using oil, and creating crises around the world that continually put oil at risk, among other pre-planned economic problems, they are setting us up for a financial catastrophe that will go screeching around the world.
Another coup for Big Oil, and the military industrial complex. Look!
It isn’t a coincidence that just when the housing bubble collapses that two things happen. The first is the easy credit cards that permit people to continue a standard of living they can no longer afford, at criminally high interest rates. You may not remember, but thanks to our bought and sold congress, you can’t claim credit card debt on your bankruptcy anymore, like student loans and back taxes. But there is another feature- if you are late on ANY bill, even a non-credit card bill, something like your light or phone bill, your credit card company can increase your interest rate to the very highest allowed by law.
The second is that suddenly, though the companies are whining about all the lost mortgates, they have dried up all new and re-financing mortgages that could help people keep their homes, saving more foreclosures.
Drying up mortgage credit purposefully is what made the Great Depression so terrible, so long lasting, and drove the government to consider fiat money. Removing re-mortgaging options meant that a very few people walked away with most of the assets for pennies on the dollar, and they’re doing it again.
You cannot be enslaved to a system that permits you to declare bankruptcy and remove all of your debt. By keeping you obligated in ways the rich NEVER are, it isn’t hard to foresee the return of ‘debtor’s prisons.’
Furthermore, this time, there is no fixing the problem. It is fiat money that got us into this mess, and the estimates look now like we OWE 720 times the GDP so far!
Ron Paul is the ONLY candidate that understands the workings of this criminal economy and how it works and doesn’t work. He’s the ONLY one who knows what to expect and how to fix it. But, it is so painful that it is hard to face.
Take stagflation, for example. This was the crisis of the 70’s and it made everything about living extremely difficult. Businesses went under. Families suffered. Credit was denied to women and minorities as a matter of principle. Home ownership was very difficult to achieve and for young couples, establishing credit at all was a tough hill to climb. To avoid hyper-inflation we had wage/price freezes that kept things stagnant, but perhaps the alternative was worse.
Now, we’re looking at INFLATIONARY DEPRESSION. What does that mean? It means that inflation will not only make prices for everything rise faster and faster, which is the inflation part, the depression means that people won’t buy or sell anything. They won’t be able to.
We are seeing this already in some areas of Michigan, where even yard sales sell almost nothing. You may want that used couch, but you don’t dare buy it- your utility bills and gasoline expenses are going up at such rates that you may need the extra money just to stay at the same place. You may want to sell that couch because you’ve lost your house, and are hoping to raise the cash for a move elsewhere, but nobody wants it for a price. You have to nearly give it away.
A depression means that nobody can buy or sell anything. They just don’t have the money for commerce. Combine that with high-test inflation, and even the things you MUST buy, like food, get more expensive by the day.
Even Faux News has decided they had better talk to Ron Paul, since there isn’t another Presidential Candidate that can even approach this issue with credibility.
Having settled for calling Dr. Ron Paul “Dr. No” for decades, while ‘leaving’ him alone in a DO NOTHING CONGRESS, now the neo-cons have discovered that Ron Paul has a following and they want him OUT.
Now they’re bending over backward to take his Congressional seat from him, thinking that popping him out of the ‘elite club’ will shut him up.
Freeing up Dr. Ron Paul is perhaps the BEST thing that can happen to this country. If he loses his Congressional seat, he will no longer be IGNORED by the powers-that-be, wasting his precious time, talent and formidable brains on people who don’t want to hear it.
He will be FREED to work with ANY third party he chooses, freed to campaign all over the country without breaking any obligations, FREED to spread the word and teach his favorite principles to College campuses and Universities all over the US.
He will be FREED to speak his mind, wherever he’s needed, at any time night or day.
He will be FREED to explain, criticize and expose all the neo-con blood-thirst, economic slavery, the North American Union usurpation, the illegal and immoral war aggression, to fight the Amero, to protest UN troops on our soil, and on and on and on. He knows exactly how to expose the corrupt voting system, courtesy of the military industrial complex, and he will be very apt at explaining the economic slavery coming down on our head with a new rock star president.
There are so many that feel, including Dr. Ron, that it is best to work from the inside out.
I disagree. It would be true if the entire system weren’t so visibly corrupt, but what we have now with the two-party system is beyond hope or repair.
The neo-cons are about to lose the RP supporters that have decided to get involved in Republican politics and they will create a force of their OWN choosing.
It is a wonderful day to see the neo-cons and neo-coms shoot themselves in the foot. They will live to regret it.
The GOP conservative movement has become as much of a disgrace as the far left has been. Now that McCain is the favored ‘front runner’ of the party, conservatives are claiming that they would rather see a Billary presidency!
Aside from the fact that Bill Clinton will never settle for the position of ‘First Lady,’ the real danger is that we will see a neo-commie Hillary presidency with a Bill Clinton presidency over the UN!
They would rather risk this incomprehensible state of affairs than take a serious look at the dark horse candidacy of Ron Paul! Why? Because the puppet masters that own the parties AND the media say that a vote for Ron Paul is a wasted vote, but as Dr. Paul recently asked about the neo-cons, “why should we believe them? They’ve been wrong about everything else!”
Am I imagining this? I wish I was! I attended the GOP delegate conference in Michigan yesterday and heard with my own ears the GOP’s party allegiance with the ‘UN GOVERNMENT.’ The bizarre thing is that the room was filled with the GOP faithful, who took all this in stride as if nothing unusual happened! Only a few newbies to the delegate process, though long-term republicans, were shocked at that.
When, exactly, did this turn of affairs occur? I have no idea, but what was made very clear at the convention was that GOP influentials had made decisions about THIS election TWO YEARS AGO and were still in hot pursuit of that agenda. There were to be NO CHANGES, even to the point of demanding to have new delegates put down in writing how they would use their vote- another unthinkable move.
It is already plain that big-brother in our government is destroying honest, hard-working American families- first the Amish, and now regular families through foreclosures and municipal actions that guarantee poverty and economic slavery for the rest of their lives, and the 100 year war of McCain, funded by China and paid for by the next 100 generations of Americans.
Hulsmann explains the spiritual and social destruction brought about by fiat economic policies, and the hyper-government that renders almost useless intermediate forms of governance. That the GOP is proclaiming that the UN is a government, and they are supporting this government, is indicative of their contempt for American sovereignty and the service to the PEOPLE that it is required by Constitutional Law to provide.
These economic policies make the effects on the populace irrelevant in terms of ending unnecessary war, just or unjust. Where is the horror of our conservatives at the total rejection of the Just War Doctrine, substituting instead the fascist doctrine of pre-emptive, first-strike, and USABLE NUCLEAR weapons war? Against a developing country that poses no genuine or even credible threat to us?
This machine that intends to grind America and Americans into dust, regardless of consequences, is proclaiming through its media, over and over, that Dr. Paul is crazy fringe and impossible to take seriously. I cannot believe that the republicans and conservatives are so stupid to accept this smoke and mirrors deception ONE MORE TIME. Therefore, the only explanation is that they too have sold out our country. There was no excuse for Chinagate to be covered over and left be by the conservatives, excepting that they too were gaining so much from the industrial war machine that they just couldn’t let it come out to the public.
Christians too, of every flavor, have bought into the media circus and are willing to forego the very foundations of what they profess to believe at this hour of ‘judgment’ on our country.
The politics of denial have gotten too far along to ignore any longer; the fruits of their labor is manifesting in an uglier fashion every single day. At least, this time out, we have ONE politician speaking truth. I get the feeling that this is our last chance to accept and support that, whatever it takes, or face some very serious consequences.
